Chiropractic therapy

Adjustments are specific techniques delivered by hand or instrument to help restore proper joint alignments. There are many chiropractic techniques which make the adjustments unique to each doctor of chiropractic. Joint dysfunction is a condition most often treated at our office. Dr. Fraser is specifically trained to treat joint disorders. Joint or articular problems are caused by osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), subluxations, sprains, intervertebral disc problems, and various abnormal changes in the curve of the spine. Joints that are aligned improperly or are impaired will begin to degenerate, if not attended to properly. Chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitation exercises are very effective in treating joint disorders.

Myofascial muscle work

Massage therapy & chiropractic care are very complimentary to each other. Each addresses a variety of health conditions, the most prevalent being stress-related tension, which, experts believe, accounts for 80%-90% of disease. Massage has been proven beneficial in treating fatigue, sleep disorders, back pain, decreased immunity, musculoskeletal disorders, and depression, to name just a few. Both offer a drug-free, non-invasive approach based on the body's natural ability to heal itself. Massage therapy has many physiological effects, such as:

• Increasing circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into

  tissues.

• Stimulating the lymph system, the body's natural defense, against toxic invaders.
• Relaxing and softening injured and overused muscles.
• Reducing spasms and cramping.
• Increasing joint flexibility.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a healing art using very thin needles used to stimulate and balance the body's energy channels which improves the body's own natural healing ability. Only sterilized, single-use, FDA approved needles are used during treatment. Acupuncture is often successful in treating a variety of conditions including: arthritis pain, sciatica, back/neck pain, forearm/shoulder/wrist pain, knee/ankle/foot pain, tendonitis/bursitis conditions, and headaches. Dr. Fraser will, at times, use acupuncture in combination with chiropractic and soft tissue massage therapies to help resolve conditions.
